Politicians are strange.

Florida Governor Charlie Crist Wants To Pardon Jim Morrison -- Vulture:

Jim Morrison, 1969.

Florida Governor Charlie Crist, last seen losing a Senate race, has decided to end his eight-year tenure by officially asking the state clemency board to pardon the Doors lead singer Jim Morrison. In 1970, Morrison was convicted on misdemeanor charges of profanity and indecent exposure and sentenced to six months in jail—it was alleged that he had drunkenly exposed himself after a concert in Miami the year before. He died in 1971, at the age of 27, while he was still appealing his conviction.
I would've blasted by this except I only just a moment ago posted a (typically cynical, bitter) link about our criminal justice system and this made me laugh for (almost) being related.

Obviously, a pardon for Jim Morrison is irrelevant; however, you could argue it's the kind of useless, harmless action more politicians should be involved in to prevent them spending their time looking for ways to screw the working class while lining the pockets of their corporate sponsors.
