Two Takes on the Marshall v. Burr Debate Last Night

The first from the Independent Weekly:
It's 7:32, 32 minutes into the Burr-Marshall debate. I can't watch any more. Burr was terrible in the first debate. That was a couple of months ago, and no one was watching. In this one, three days before early voting starts, Marshall is terrible. Burr's not great, but he's doing a reasonably good job of talking around every issue. And Marshall, who's 15-20 points behind in the polls, hasn't managed to call him out on anything.
The second is from the Examiner:
Throughout the debate Marshall was calm, warm, and direct.

The Democrats on Blue NC following the debate were ecstatic. One writer, whose login name is “DrFrankLives” (apparently a reference to the former President of the University of North Carolina, who also ran for the U. S. Senate), said, “Um, we have much higher budgets for immigration control than ever before, National Guard on the border. And Elaine just called him on it. Atta girl!”
I didn't think Marshall was nearly as bad as IndyWeek did. I don't think Marshall did anything like make up 15 points either. I missed the first 20 minutes or so of the debate putting the kids to bed, and it sounds like I'm glad of it, but I thought she did a reasonable job getting after Burr as the debate wore on. However, she wasn't specific enough. Burr came off as a slimey evader and she missed several chances to eviscerate him. She did hit the mark a few times but on the whole I thought she was relying too much on the generalities when the specific examples of Burr's obstructionism would've helped make her point.
