Mills started his Swift Creek Film Company in October and currently works with a staff of 15 in Fuquay-Varina. He is pleased to be able to bring acting and film production opportunities to North Carolina, something that he once had to travel to Hollywood for. The White Oak High School graduate left the Navy in 1997 and headed for the West Coast, where he was cast in a small role in the Richard Gere film “No Mercy.” However, his vision to write and produce his own quality films remained and he came back to North Carolina to do so.

As happy as I am to see a story like this out of Fuquay and wish Mr. Mills all the best getting his Otis Redding movie made ... there's nothing about this trailer that makes me think The Complex is going to Sundance. (I could never be a movie critic; it's too hard to say something negative about somebody's hard work. I feel awful just for expressing skepticism based on a trailer. Is this how Armond White feels? How does he do it?)
