Sorry About the Syphilis

U.S. apologizes for syphilis experiment in Guatemala | Reuters:
'The sexually transmitted disease inoculation study conducted from 1946-1948 in Guatemala was clearly unethical,' Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said in a statement.
Clearly.

Y'know, if we could restrain ourselves from torturing prisoners, killing civilians with drones, and giving people syphilis, the rest of the world might like us a little better. I thought in the 1940s we were fighting against Dr. Mengele, not taking pages from his playbook. Good grief.
